Have you started planning for 2015 yet?

Our last post discussed the importance of your customers and how they find you and choose to dine at your venue.

This however, is about 2015!

We know from experience, that many restaurants and venues don’t plan ahead that far, and that is where we can help. For our clients, we already have the whole of 2015 planned.

That might sound crazy, but let’s explain how we do it.

Christmas, is a great example.

Let’s face it, Christmas happens every year – that means it should be planned by – at the latest, during the summer. Actually, if done correctly, it can be done immediately after New Year through clever activity, scheduling and re-purposing existing content!

So how do we know this is the case?

Visit a supermarket. Like it or not, they start displaying Christmas products just as the schools return back at the start of September.

HOWEVER – they actually ordered their Christmas stock from suppliers months before this – so they can get the best price and quality and then they tweak the marketing as they go along, to react to variations in demand, weather, the economy etc. as they happen.

Have you ever seen barbecues suddenly appear on the shelves when the weather goes up a few degrees?

So, are you focussed more on the present and past, than your future?

Statistics

A recent survey in the hospitality sector suggested that over 40% of the British adult population are eating out at least once a week, with this increasing to over 50% for 25-34 year-olds.

Aside from that, our statistics show that over 58% customers are coming to you through mobile/tablets and nearly 35% are booking on-line!

Are the plans and strategies reflecting all this and are you up to date with trends and technology?

Your next steps

With 2015 just a few weeks away – many restaurants will sail through Christmas and not even have looked at the 2015 plans for their business. They will then hit their usual January slump

If you have fallen into the trap of not planning ahead, then you need to, because part of the reason we do that for our clients is due to the factthat marketing is never static and neither are your customers!!
