As you probably know if you are in the hospitality sector, the Michelin Guide is a series of annual guide books which are the oldest and best-known European hotel and restaurant reference guide. They award Michelin stars for excellence, through a secret process, to just a select few establishments.
Why is a Michelin star so prestigious?
The acquisition or loss of a star can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant and each time the guide is published, it always sparks a media frenzy.
The Greenhouse – Mayfair, and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel – Westminster, both awarded 2 stars
Fat Duck – Bray
Waterside Inn – Bray
Gordon Ramsay – Chelsea
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester – Mayfair
